Who are Apuckalips?

Stephanie Brown is an artist, collector, and tinkerer. She is a formally educated textile & fiber artist, holding a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Stephanie started her textile career, unknowingly, at a very young age when her grandmother taught her weaving. Her work has varied from costume design, to fashion lines, to gallery work, and accessories. Steph’s work has been seen in Cliche’s Avoid the Grey and the Minnesota Fringe Festival under the name of Steevie.b. Her passion for tinkering and collecting are reflected in her creative aesthetic, using many of her found objects and upcycling them into unusual, sculptural pieces.

The constant location change of growing up an army brat is often reflected in the varied aesthetic of Suzanne Shanklin. She created her own bachelors degree mixing the Fine Arts, Theater and Film.  Jewelry design was something she picked up out of necessity while traveling through Mexico. A  pack of traveling musicians and artists  showed her how to fashion jewelry out of scraped materials and wire to sell at the market. Upon returning to the states the tiny sculptures continued to be a loved form of expression.  Although her design and materials have become more refined, her love of recycling  and re-purposing  unexpected materials continues.
